This Swedish tradition celebrates one of the most beloved Swedish treats. Created in 1999 by Hembakningsrådet (the Home Baking Council), it celebrates homemade buns and the fika culture in Sweden.
The cinnamon bun has been part of Swedish daily life for over a century. Starting in the 1920s, as ingredients like butter and flour became more accessible, it became the favorite pastry of home bakers.
